Speedway youngsters steal the spotlight at Belle Vue!
Last month saw the climax of the very first Project Speedway course with an honouree presentation for the 7 youngsters who completed the challenging 7 week course.
Held at the famous Hyde Road Stadium of Belle Vue, the presentation was received before a crowd of 1,500, ahead of the One51 Ace’s meet with Peterborough.
Project organisers, Belle Vue, Bolton Lads and Girls Club and One51 Smith Metals were all present to congratulate the youngsters on their unwavering determination and eagerness to complete all aspects of the business led initiative.
The young people were awarded by Smith Metals Director, Mark Smith as well as Belle Vue influentials, Managing Director David Gordon, Financial Director, Gordon Pairman and Operations Director and Speedway legend, Chris Morton.
The response to the project has been outstanding and reflective in the changing attitudes of the young people involved.
Speaking about the long term advantages of the project, Smith Metals Director Mark Smith said:
“The motivation behind this initiative doesn’t end with the presentation; we are passionate about this project and see endless benefit for the youngsters.
“If this is all it takes to instil vital personal and business skills in these young people then One51 Smith Metals are proud to endorse the scheme for as long as there is interest. We are very proud of what has been achieved and would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has been involved in making it a great success.”
The second wave of Project Speedway is due to commence on the 6th July. Keep an eye out for updates in our next newsletter!
