New recycling site set to boost business in Manchester!
Smith Metals are delighted to announce the opening of a brand new, state-of-the-art, metal recycling site in the heart of Manchester city centre.
The new site will be operated by Smith Metals sister company, Howarth Metals, with Smith’s overseeing the day to day production and management of the business.
The brand new recycling base will also become the North West HQ for the UK metal recycling division of One51 Group; who now hold a strong, sustained presence throughout the North West with 3 local companies to their name.
Opening on the 6th July, Smith Metals are confident the £5.5 million investment will give them the edge over the North West competition as metal prices remain ambiguous.
Based in Ardwick, the new site will facilitate the ‘full range of scrap metals’ and Smith Metals are encouraging businesses and members of the public to bring any and all types of scrap metal down to the site.
The size of the new site will also allow for larger collections of scrap, making it more cost effective and efficient.
With heightened global awareness of the need to protect our precious natural resources Smith Metals are investing heavily in an infrastructure to help reduce the affects of global warming by optimising the efficient recycling of scrap metals.
